Have you had enough? How does your body feel today? Do you feel bloated or gassy? Do you have aches or pains ? Maybe you are dealing with a headache or something much more serious like cancer or heart disease. Maybe you’re not sleeping that well at night and wake up tired or you wake up with something like acid reflux. You are not alone with these symptoms; a great number of people experience the same thing you are experiencing every day, but what is going to make you different than them? Will you be willing to make the changes necessary to feel better, to move better, to sleep better, and even to love better? Think about the opportunity that you have to learn, and then drop the imaginary pebble in the pond causing a ripple effect as you pass on what you have learned to family, friends, and other loved ones.
Science is now proving that your health truly does start in your gut. What and how you choose to eat determines how you are going to feel. If you eat too late at night, that raises your insulin which blocks melatonin receptors and makes it harder to sleep. Foods that you eat might promote inflammation and cause your knee or other areas to be in pain the next day. And here’s one for you guys– if you eat food that causes too much estrogen production, things that you want to happen might not be able to happen. You feel me? What we choose to eat and or drink at every single meal has an absolute effect every time. So, I pose this question to you, have you had enough of the foods that are deleterious to you? How many times have you had your favorite food that isn’t good for you, or have you had one glass of wine that accidentally turned into a bottle of wine before the evening ended?
It is 2018, and people have more available knowledge that could make their life healthier and reduce a great number of symptoms that they are dealing with daily. I believe that the time is over for the excuse of, “Oh, I didn’t know that.” Parents have an awesome opportunity to teach their children how to eat and exercise properly in order to maintain a long, healthy life by leading through example. I wish I knew then what I know now when I was raising my kids. It is a more difficult task trying to teach kids when they are older versus when they are younger.
Now, by no means am I saying to give up tasty, fulfilling food.  You can take those favorite recipes and exchange the bad ingredients for healthier choices. It is not always easy; it took me several years to get over the fact that I wasn’t going to have spaghetti and meatballs any longer. This was by far my ultimate favorite meal!  However,  I have found awesome substitutes for my favorites and now live a healthier life.
