Bonnie and Terry Patterson
1. When you joined B-Fit, what life changes were you ready to make? What made joining B-Fit the right choice to help make those changes?Bonnie: My initial goal was to lose weight and tone my body. Joining B-Fit was definitely the right choice because Beverly taught me how to work out efficiently and effectively–I didn’t need to spend hours working out. And learning from Bev how to eat in order to properly fuel my body was even more important in achieving my goals.Terry: I have always been active, playing basketball and working out, but I wasn’t seeing the results I wanted to see. Bonnie had been going to B-Fit for 9 months, and the progress and changes she had made impressed me so much that I decided to join B-Fit. I learned a lot from Beverly, and I know I would not have achieved my current level of fitness on my own.2. How does the B-Fit community help keep you motivated and accountable?Bonnie: Working out with my friends at B-Fit is fun! We laugh, we encourage one another, and we lift up each other mentally when we’re having a hard day.Terry: We’re like family at B-Fit. We have a good time in the 4:30 group, but we definitely work hard and push each other to do our best. Using the MyZone monitors really motivates me to keep up with my friends and reach my monthly points.3. How does having a higher fitness level benefit your everyday activities?Bonnie: I am helping raise our 8-year-old grandson, who is very active and loves to play sports. Being fit helps me keep up with him, mentally and physically, and I can still win sometimes when we play!Terry: My work in the insurance business frequently has me walking all over farms and other properties. Being fit helps me maintain a high level of energy throughout a long work week.4. What changes have you made regarding nutrition, sleep, and exercise that help you stay healthier?Bonnie: Eating clean, avoiding sugar, and watching my intake of carbs has made a huge impact on how I feel. I have learned to pay attention to what I eat and how it affects my joints, my digestive system, and my energy levels. I feel good and rarely get ill.Terry: Beverly taught me to eat smaller amounts of food but more frequently. I usually fuel my body every 3 hours, and that helps boost my metabolism. And clean eating makes me feel better.5. What tips could you give other couples that may struggle with working on health and fitness together?Bonnie & Terry: Everything is more fun when you do it together! Even if you cannot work out at the same time during the week, which is the case for us, you can still benefit from being on this journey together. Your partner is your best supporter and encourager. You’ll each enjoy seeing the results you obtain by working together. And it’s much easier to plan meals when both are eating nutritiously. (And, whenever you feel sore or tired, you have someone beside you who can relate!!)

We both knew the benefits of a healthy fitness regimen, but it just took Jason longer to jump in than Tiffany. Tiffany initially joined to be proactive in getting as strong as she could before a major surgery. Jason joined after holiday carb loading and receiving a gift certificate from Santa in his Christmas stocking…. and seeing Tiffany’s physique change!
We both have said the health and fitness benefits are equally matched by the great people we’ve
had the privilege of meeting and sincerely look forward to working out with. It doesn’t hurt
when one of them puts their house on the market and you get to snatch it up either.
After the soreness subsides it feels good to run up the stairs repeatedly throughout the day
without being winded! Tiffany can chase the boys and dog when necessary (which is pretty
much daily) and Jason can climb in the aircraft without getting a cramp!
healthier? We’ve always heard exercise and food go hand in hand. Not that it keeps us from
indulging but it does help drive home that both need to be addressed to maintain certain goals.
Exercising regularly has improved our strength and mobility which has therefore motivated us to
make better nutrition choices. We reach for water far more than any other beverage. We really
like the benefits collagen and bone broths have on our aging joints, too! And the sauna! It’s part
of our immune-boosting lineup every time sickness comes knocking. And other times for
additional good measure! There’s more than a gym at B-Fit, which we value greatly.
together? Find what works for YOU BOTH! If working out together is more likely to lead to
another kind of therapy, work out separately with people you can laugh with and be mutually
encouraging. If you can workout together and enjoy it, DO IT! Every person is different and
every marriage is unique. There is no perfect formula that fits all so find what works for you!
We will say that joining B-Fit and getting a MyZone has helped the friendly competition stay
friendly versus when we were sparring partners back in our Tae Kwon Do years. We prefer
laughing stitches far more than real stitches! Now it’s all about the MEPS!

The fitness levels we enjoy because of B-Fit enable us to do any outdoor adventure, such as our high altitude hikes in the Himalayas last year.
We have enjoyed these activities together for many years, and we highly recommend them for any couple. But it doesn’t have to be hiking or climbing. Choose any activity, like kayaking or swimming or biking, and do it together with mutual goals. Like us, you will learn much about yourself and each other through these mutual activities.
Our two mottos are: DREAM IT, PLAN IT, DO IT, ( old Nike slogan)
and
NEVER ACT YOUR AGE!

1. When you joined B-Fit what life changes were you ready to make? (what made joining B-Fit the right choice to help make those changes)
Sarah: When I joined Bfit about 10years ago I was ready to finally make time for myself. After two years of only working and taking care of our twins I realized having my own time was important. I also joined Bfit to get strength and energy back after having the twins.
Ben: To take my training and nutrition to the next level.
