1.  How long have you been at B-Fit and why did you want to join?  This November will be my 7 year anniversary!
2.  You have had some back problems. What led you to start Pilates as a way of treating your back problems?  I was definitely having major back issues and was unable to complete a swim without severe back spasms.  It was debilitating, and I did not want to have to stop training so I decided to go see the chiropractor after trying multiple sessions of dry needling and various consultations with physical therapists.  The common theme from everyone seemed to be core problems.  So after talking with Bev, I decided to return to Pilates and committed to once a week.
3.  How has Pilates helped your back and overall fitness level?  I cannot say enough about the changes I have experienced with Pilates.  Jennifer is wonderful and very patient.  As it turns out, my abs were not contributing to the rest of my body to do anything as it relates to my fitness. In the beginning, it was very frustrating and I did not even know how to know if my abs were there.  The one thing I remind myself all day every day is to keep my ribs down so my abs stay engaged.  This was the only thing Jennifer could find to help me understand how to make them work and this insight has really changed my world. After many sessions and conversations with my abs, they agreed to join the party.  The spasms have stopped completely in the pool, not only improving my swim, but the bike, run, and strength training at B-Fit.
4.  What are your current/future goals regarding fitness and/or nutrition?  I will be completing my second 1/2 Ironman in October, and I plan to do at least 2 or maybe 3 next season.  I have also started intermittent fasting daily in hopes this will continue my quest to be the leanest me possible.  So far it has really been working on the remaining stubborn fat.
5.  What would you tell others about the community atmosphere at B-Fit?  I would say it is very important to surround yourself with like-minded people who continue to inspire you to reach your goals every day.  It is so true that you the people you surround yourself with (I heard this from a good friend) and through B-Fit and the friends I have made here, there is never a shortage of reasons to be inspired by an amazing group of people.  Bev and Bob and Jennifer continue to further their education regarding fitness and nutrition and are always willing to share and help whenever needed.
6.  What is your favorite and least favorite exercise?  I love riding my bike outside and have really not been liking my trainer much lately.  Burpees have always been the worst for me.
