1. How long have you been at B-Fit and why did you want to join?
I started at B-Fit one year ago, October 2017. I had been exercising on my own for about three years prior to B-Fit, and while I had achieved some weight loss, I
felt that my overall fitness, especially core strength and flexibility, were lacking. My girlfriend, Sue, was already a B-Fit client and she convinced me to give Bev and
Bob a try.
2. What have you learned at B-Fit to help with your healthy and nutritional choices?
The changes I’ve achieved in one year have been tremendous. What has worked for me is having a regular workout schedule with exercises that, while strenuous, can be tailored to my individual abilities. I’ve learned that just jumping on a treadmill and taking off for 45 minutes is not nearly as effective as a focused,
professionally developed exercise that works the whole body. I have also really gained from utilizing the MyZone app. The instantaneous feedback it provides
along with providing comparable data allows Sue and me to compete despite our size difference.
3. What are your current and future nutrition/workout goals?
I feel better now, at 58 years old, than I have since my 20’s. My doctor has reduced the dose of blood pressure medicine by half that I have been on for 25
years due to my improved fitness and weight loss. My goal for the coming year is
to get off that medicine completely and get below 220 lbs, which I haven’t
weighed since college!
4. What would you tell others about the training and community atmosphere at B-
Fit?
I have really enjoyed the group dynamic of semi-private training. Having others
working alongside has improved my accountability, form, and desire to reach
deeper. Bev and Bob have been a big part in creating the new and improved me!
5. What is your favorite and least favorite exercise?
My favorite exercise is anything cardio, but just because that was the only area I
had achieved a level of competence in prior to coming to B-Fit.
As for my least favorite, let me see. Where do I start? Just kidding, I still find
exercises which require balance to be very challenging, and I still need to gain
upper body strength. So, bench press and dumbbell curls are a challenge, but I love to complain
to Bob about inchworms!
